![]() When Aaye, the wife of Olofin was going to sell corn meal in the market, Olofin removed his eye balls and put them at the bottom of the basket. Orunmila was told to appease his Ifa with a goat and corn meal. His servant got to the market and bought the corn meal together with the basket. When the wife got home; Olofin told her his eyes were inside the basket to watch whatever happened in the market as usual. The wife ran out to look for the buyer. After the appeasement, they all ate the corn meal in the house of Orunmila. Osun the wife packed all the leaves used to wrap the corn meal and put them inside the basket to dump. As she got to the dumping ground, pouring down the content of the basket, she found two eyes and took them home to give to Orunmila. Olofin had become blind and the wife had run away. Olofin sent for Orunmila for consultation. When Orunmila left, he met Aaye who was also going to Orunmila to consult Ifa. She explained what happened to Orunmila and they both went to Olofin and the latter was very happy for he has found both his eyes and his wife. Ifa says, husbands should mettle in the business or works of their wives as well as refrain from asking their wives about their money and how they spend it. Generally speaking, people should mind their own business in order to prevent becoming blind. It is the pinnacle of your existence and represents the total optimization of your character, abilities and purpose. As such, Ori Apere might be considered the final stage of spiritual maturity. Ifá teaches us this way:
He who prints the chalk on the back of crocodile He was the Awo who cast Ifa for the 401 Irunmole When going to Apere, a state of perfection He who prints the chalk on the back of crocodile The Awo of Ori who cast Ifa for Ori When Ori was going to Apere They were all advised to offer sacrifice Only Ori responded by offering the sacrifice The sacrifice of Ori had been abundantly rewarded Ori is higher then all Òrìsà It is only Ori which reaches Apere, the perfect state No other Òrìsà can give support Outside of one's Ori Ori is higher then all Orisa deities - Holy Odù IreteOfun When you allow the ego to dissipate and let go of the fears that bind you to small ideas and material gain, abundant reward awaits you, not in the distant future, but here and now. Make an agreement with your internal spirit, that if it will show you the way, you will follow it without hesitation, qualifications and conditions. Commit to living the medicine.
Egbe is essential to Orisa Lifestyle. And while most people have recently discovered the spiritual dimensions of egbe, anyone who has taken my course, the Fundamentals of Orisa Lifestyle knows that there are actually three aspects of egbe. In general terms, egbe is your cohort. More specifically, the first category of egbe applies to your age-mates. It consists of that group of people that supports you at various phases of life. As you develop and experience the spectrum of what life has to offer, your egbe is there for you. The second category of egbe refers to professional guilds, like carvers, bead makers, priests and so on. This group is responsible for setting policy, settling disputes and organizing other market-related activities. Finally, there is the spiritual egbe, which is your heavenly cohort. This is the group of spiritual entities that have agreed to support your social interactions on earth. It is the symbiotic relationship between the earthly and heavenly egbe that enables you to successfully navigate the many social circles that are associated with a healthy social life. Egbe is governed by agreements. The strength and vitality of the market is determined by agreements: the value of currency, the validity of scientific theory and the application of law are all the result of agreements. And so, egbe is fundamental to community-building. Live the medicine.
